Atrativos

Cachoeira do Formiga

Cachoeira do Formiga is a waterfall located in Mateiros, Tocantins, Brazil. A waterfall known worldwide for its crystal-clear greenish waters, surrounded by natural vegetation, and has a deck that is ideal for diving and nature observation. The waterfall has almost two meters in height and a very strong water pressure, attracting tourists looking for a natural hydro massage.

Dunes

The existence of dunes in Jalapão causes surprise and enchantment.

They were formed over time, by the action of winds carrying particles from the sandstone rocks of the Espírito Santo Ridge.

Access is by 4x4 vehicle. From the entrance to the top of the dunes, it's about 20 minutes of light to moderate walking. Consumption of beverages or overnight stays is not allowed, only photographic records of a moment of deep connection with nature. To visit, it is necessary to be accompanied by a local guide and make an appointment.

Cachoeira da Velha

Legend has it that a widow went to the waterfall every day, hoping to find her deceased husband. Others complement by warning that the old lady still haunts those who dare to spend the night there.

Legends aside, Cachoeira da Velha has been chosen by tourists as one of the most beautiful in Brazil. The large volume of water falling from its 15 meters prevents diving, but just ahead, it is possible to enjoy the calmness of Rio Novo small beach. Delightful!

"Fervedouros" (Natural Springs)

Simple, transparent, unique in their sizes, shapes, and colors, the "fervedouros" invite you for a different dive: to float without fear of sinking over springs with high water pressure that rises from the water table.

Each "fervedouro" invites you to a unique experience. Visit at least two to perceive their nuances. Some of them are: Bela Vista, Butiti, Buritizinho, do Ceiça, Macaúbas, Veredas, Rio Sono, da Prainha, and Fervedouro do Mumbuca.

Pedra Furada (Pierced Rock)

Located 35 km from Ponte Alta do Tocantins, the rock formation is another invitation for beautiful photos anda cerrado contemplation. It can be visited at any time, but it is ideal to see the sunset when the light highlights the different shades of sandstone. There are cracks of several shapes, carved by the wind, especially one that, depending on the position, shows the outline of the state of Tocantins.
